FAIRLEA -- The West Virginia State Fair will welcome chickens and ducks back to Greenbrier County this year.
Livestock and other farm animals are always a big draw to the fairgrounds, but last year, concerns over the bird flu meant banning chickens and ducks.
It was a trend at several state fairs across the country.
But organizers say the bird flu fear is not an issue this year, so birds will be once again be featured. "We'll have the live display of chickens and little ducks that kids have loved over the years. They are all back and a lot of other industry displays," said Marlene Jolliffe, the state fair manager.
The state fair of West Virginia opens on August 8th and runs until August 16th.
